This is a simple demo scene showing off a shader I've written that takes advantage of ray marching algorithms to emulate the appearance of rising and falling wax in a lava lamp! 

The only meshes in the scene are the table, and the lamp's metal and glass components. The animated green wax is pure shader code.

The wax appears 3D thanks to the camera position uniform that updates the perspective of the render.

You can control the camera with WASD and Zoom in and out with Q and E
